Family of Four

We received a call from a family last month, wanting to schedule a photo shoot for their family of four. It had been a while since they had photos taken so they were very excited and so were we!

We started in the studio where Alex and Isabella got comfortable with the camera and the lights. Alex was a bit shy at first, not very talkative but cute nonetheless.

His expressions were priceless!

Isabella looked adorable in her headbands and while on the move. She was crawling without a worry and smiling for the camera :-)

Then we headed to a local park to get some shots outside...

Isabella enjoyed a quiet moment while sitting in the grass.

Alex showed us more of that handsome smile while taking a turn at the swings.

After posting a preview image on Facebook, mom paid us a great compliment:

What a wonderful compliment! Thank you!

New floor!

We finally had a chance to put a new floor in our studio last week. George and myself, we are artists, not handymen. So it did overwhelm us a bit as we did not know where to start. We made an attempt to call someone to put the floor in for us, having no luck because everyone was busy. So we decided to tackle it ourselves because we were going to get it done one way or another!

Two nights of hard work, back pain, and bruised knees and voilĂ !

Our new floor was in! It was not as hard as we first thought it would be. The hardest part was staggering the boards to create a random pattern. We had names for the board designs like the "alien head one," "the bullet holes, (version one and two)" and "tick marks." :0)

We put the floor to good use that weekend with a family shoot and the results were great!

On to the next project!

The Toy Parade

Welcome spring - finally!

I know it's been awhile since my last blog post. However, since the last post, I decided to quit my job to help George and fully concentrate on the photography business, as well as pursue my own freelance design business. Everything is going very well and we are very happy with the change.

Also, since my last post our son, Aaron, has become obsessed with Disney's Cars and we have a constant parade of cars in our house, at my parents' house and even at daycare! He is meticulous in lining the cars up and reenacts scenes from the movie.

It's a true joy watching him play and seeing his imagination run wild. He definitely inherited his creative juices from George and myself.

Thinking of Spring

Welcome to the first blog post from George Lama Photography! This will be a shared effort between myself (Renee Lama) and George. We have been wanting to start a blog for a while and what better way to begin a new year!

Thinking of Spring:
I am not a snow person. I am actually counting the days until Spring begins (58 days!).
So, in light of my desire for Spring to begin, I decided that our first post would revisit some of the beautiful insect shots George has taken during the Spring/Summer season.

George would go out "hunting" for hours and come back in and say, "Let me show you this." I would say, "No!" and run. I really did not want to know what was lurking in our backyard. (This is the same man who can see a tiny spider on a leaf 3 feet away, but cannot see crumbs on the counter right in front of him.)

George calls this one "David and Goliath." That is a young goldenrod spider carrying that ant.

An Argiope (spider). The biggest spider I have ever seen and hopefully will ever see.
George would not let me kill it. :0)

So think Spring while you are shoveling snow. Maybe that will make it come faster.
